Story of the Vintage: Printed Midi Skirt

In my vintage shop, every piece has a story of it’s own, whether it be the story of how I cam across the item or maybe I sat and talked with the owner and learned about the history. I always try to do both.

I love this bold, printed midi skirt because I think it says a bold statement. The light cotton fabric just makes this skirt perfect for spring or summer, a nice dinner out or a music festival in the middle of the dessert. You choose. But until then, I’ll let you know how I found this gem.

One day in the summer, a few towns over was having a town-wide yard sale. PERFECT. I woke up early before I had to go to work so that I had enough time to find all my treasures. The items turned out to be great, but they were home decor and big furniture pieces. Not my niche unfortunately.

On my way home I got a little lost but I stumbled upon this small thrift store showed up out of nowhere. (Enter illegal U-turn and I was in heaven).

When I entered, stuff was piled so high I couldn’t even see in the windows! I spent hours going through things, secretly scared I was going to find a dead body at the bottom of all of these clothes but instead I found this unique skirt.

After talking with the owners daughter, I found out the thrift store is part of a mission that helps provide clothing and food for areas in need. All of the clothing was donated to them so anything you buy was donation based. I was happy I found that place and that I could make a contribution to their mission.

Take a look at the skirt on my Etsy shop for only $10!

Size extra small. Waist measures 23″; length measures 33″. Elastic waistband. All clothing is professionally dry cleaned.
